RAISED OF NATIONAL FLAG IN THE 189 ANNIVERSARY
NATIVE OF INDEPENDENCE
The celebrations of the 189 Anniversary of Independence started September 1, 2010 with the act of lifting and oath of the National Flag in the central park of Coxen Hole.
The events were led by:

• Vice-Mayor, Elsa Hernandez
• Departmental Director of Education, Maximo Castro
• Sub / Director of the Zolitur, Kendra Jones
• Police, Fire Department, Municipal Police and Students of several schools

In the hours of noon was the arrival of the Torch to the central park of Coxen Hole.were attended several school's and representant of local authoritys.

On August 17, 2010, in Honduras Outreach Ministry extended a meeting with representatives of Education and Local Authorities to form a Council Municipal Development for Education (CODEM). * In our island we have children in school studying 10.148 The CODEM is composed of 47 members and the President is the Mayor Julio Cesar Galindo Sosa.

Work together to respond to DisastersOn July 8, 2010, the Municipal Emergency Committee of the Island of Roatan was reactivated in order to define actions to be taken to act in cases of Natural Disasters.
With the reactivation of the Committee aims to develop the strategies and conditions for a rapid and coordinated response of Local Authorities.
Municipal Mayor Julio Cesar Galindo, call upon the Municipal Authorities of the Island of Roatan and representatives of Governmental and private Institutions in this area, to form the Integrated Working Team.The meeting was attended by representatives of Education, Health, Fire Brigade, Police Preventive the Media and Zolitur.Mayor Julio Cesar Galindo said that work together and organized to cope with any incident.

On July 22, 2010 Lobo Sosa President, attended the opening of a Desalination Plant in the community of Coxen Hole which costs 55 million lempira’s with what the people of Roatan will not suffer from the lack of drinking water.
The Mayor of Roatan, Julio Galindo, said that with the reverse osmosis plant will benefit 17 000 inhabitants living in Coxen Hole, the largest community on the island.
During the ceremony, the President Lobo Sosa, received a plaque in recognition of their contribution to the project from the municipality of Roatan.
